The Optometrist provides high-quality, comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages—performing exams, diagnosing vision issues, prescribing treatments, and supporting urgent care needs. As a valued member of our Medical Staff, they also contribute to quality improvement, planning, and community outreach efforts.
Location: This position will work at our Senior Health and Wellness (SHAW) Optometry Department in Merced, CA. Located in the heart of California’s beautiful Central Valley, you’ll be just a short drive from everything California has to offer — sandy beaches, vibrant cities, the breathtaking Yosemite National Park, and snowy mountain slopes — all within 1.5 to 2 hours! It’s the perfect place to live, work, and explore!
Flexible Schedule: Flexibility to work five (5) eight (8) hour days, or four (4) ten (10) hour days.
Compensation: $150,000 – $174,000 Guaranteed Annual Salary; Sign On Bonus and Relocation Assistance Eligible

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and/or push up to 100 pounds (on wheels). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff. Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually average.
Min. Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE: Graduation from an accredited optometry program with a Doctor of Optometry (DO) degree, active state optometry license, valid BLS CPR certificated through AHA/ARC
SKILLS: Ability to speak Spanish highly desirable.
